Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Pete
MEDIUM: Original Production Drawing Set
IMAGE SIZE: 12" x 9.5"
PRODUCTION: Mickey's Service Station, 1935
SKU: CCV3028
ABOUT THE IMAGE: This 1935 short, directed by Ben Sharpsteen (1895 - 1980), was released on 3/16/1935. It was the first to feature Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as a team and followed the three as they - literally - worked for their lives to fix Pete's car. This pair of wonderful 12 field 2-peghole vintage animation drawings capture the before and after of their hard work, one showing the trio rush to fix the car and the other Pete mid-explosion. They are rendered in graphite with color pencil and look to be created for around 1:46 and 7:26. It looks like this animated classic still has some surprises because neither made it into the final film, making them a truly rare find. They are noted as 35B and 167.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original production drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn by studio artists!

ABOUT:
Tom Everhart is a celebrated American painter whose work uniquely bridges the worlds of fine art and popular culture through his exclusive use of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts characters. Initially trained at Yale School of Art and later mentored by Schulz himself, Everhart transitioned from traditional illustration and architectural rendering to a bold, expressive painting style after a life-altering battle with cancer in the late 1980s.
"The "Posing" series did grow out of the previous "Hide and Seek" series that focused on the questions of one's attempt to hide their intellectual honesty in order to seek out a newly designed image... a "Poser" tsunami of posturing between who was being real, and who was obviously pretending to be real, often with the intent to deceive, could no longer be ignored." - Tom Everhart
