ABOUT THE IMAGE: This photostat model sheet titled "Duchess Prod. 0101" was made at Disney Studio during production of The Aristocats, and it was issued to animators for their use in drawing the film's female lead. 

The approval signature of Wolfgang Reitherman ~"Woolie"~ is reproduced in the sheet to the right of the title. There are 27 polished drawings of Duchess shown on the sheet; her principal animators were Ollie Johnston and Milt Kahl and the drawings are undoubtedly their work. 

ABOUT THE MEDIUM: A model sheet is a group of character drawings illustrating different poses and expressions of a cartoon character. Because a number of artists worked on a single cartoon, these sheets were circulated to the animators to give a uniform look and feel to a character throughout a production.
