Pinocchio
MEDIUM: Original Production Model Drawing
IMAGE SIZE: 16.5" x 12.5"
PRODUCTION: Pinocchio, 1940
SKU: CCV3573
ABOUT THE IMAGE: "But, Father..." "But I'm awfully glad to see you." Pinocchio and Jiminy have finally found Geppetto inside Monstro's belly and are ready to rescue him, but the man cares far more about making sure that Pinocchio is okay. And he sure looks okay now, wrapped head to toe in a warm and cozy blanket! This rare 16 Field 5-peghole drawing of the puppet would have been used to keep the animation of blanket in the scene consistent. Pinocchio and the blanket can be found at about 1:18:05 with some small differences to the design, a short but sweet reunion before the family makes their daring escape. Pinocchio has an approximate image size of 5'' x 7.5'' and is rendered in graphite with color pencil highlights on the sewn material of the blanket. 'Model for blanket' is written in the lower right and the drawing is noted for Scene 15.1 and Sequence 10.5.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn by a studio artist.

ABOUT:
Tom Everhart is a celebrated American painter whose work uniquely bridges the worlds of fine art and popular culture through his exclusive use of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts characters. Initially trained at Yale School of Art and later mentored by Schulz himself, Everhart transitioned from traditional illustration and architectural rendering to a bold, expressive painting style after a life-altering battle with cancer in the late 1980s.
"The "Posing" series did grow out of the previous "Hide and Seek" series that focused on the questions of one's attempt to hide their intellectual honesty in order to seek out a newly designed image... a "Poser" tsunami of posturing between who was being real, and who was obviously pretending to be real, often with the intent to deceive, could no longer be ignored." - Tom Everhart
