Deputy Droopy

IMAGE SIZE: 10.5" x 12.5"
YEAR: 1955

ABOUT THE IMAGE: Slim and Shorty make repeated attempts to crack the safe, yet they are thwarted by their own incompetence or by Droopy. Each time one or both outlaws must run off to the hills to yell, scream or laugh so as not to wake the sheriff. After several exhausting failed attempts Shorty takes a break in a rocking chair, and Droopy places the cat's tail under one of the rockers—this is Slim's reaction to the cat's impending shriek.
Animation cels from Tex Avery's cartoons are scarce. Studio designation "14" is written in ink at the lower right to mark this cel's place in the scene.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
