Terry McGinnis
Terry McGinnis is a character in the animated television series Batman Beyond, which aired from 1999 to 2001. Created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, Terry is the protagonist of the series and is voiced by actor Will Friedle. Terry was a troubled teenager who lived in a futuristic version of Gotham City in the year 2039. After the murder of his father, Terry became disillusioned with the justice system and turned to petty crime to survive. However, a chance encounter with an aging Bruce Wayne changed his life forever.
Bruce revealed to Terry that he was the original Batman and offered to train him as his successor. Terry accepted the offer and became the new Batman, using advanced technology and gadgets to fight crime in the future of Gotham City. He donned a high-tech bat-suit and flew around the city on a jet-powered hoverboard, taking on new villains such as the Jokerz gang and the genetically enhanced splicing experiments known as "splicers." Throughout the series, Terry struggled with his dual identity as both a high school student and the new Batman. He also faced challenges in his personal life, including his relationship with his mother and his complicated feelings for his girlfriend, Dana Tan. Despite these challenges, Terry proved to be a worthy successor to Bruce Wayne and worked tirelessly to protect Gotham City from new threats. He also developed a close bond with Bruce, who served as his mentor and confidante throughout the series.
