ABOUT THE IMAGE: This original preliminary design drawing of five of The Seven Dwarfs was created by a Disney Studio artist in the development of an illustration ~likely the cover or title page~for a storybook published in the 1950s or 1960s.
Five of the Seven Dwarfs from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) are depicted. Five handwritten editor's notes call for revisions, including "add 2 dwarfs." Another note reads "use the original title" and apparently a paste-over that is now lost was applied to the title area.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn by studio artists!
